TELEVISION

Dave Scott is best known for his work on television as a Broadcast Meteorologist for KUSI-TV in San Diego.  With Weather pioneer Bob Dale as a role model, Dave began studying the weather in 1987 at the National Weather Service in San Diego.  Chief Meteorologist Wilbur Shigehara taught Dave satellite imagery and the influence of weather patterns from El Nino.  After interning at KGTV, Dave landed his first full-time weather position at KYMA in Yuma, Arizona before being picked up by KOLD-TV in Tucson.


In 1992, Dave became the weekend weatherman at KUSI-TV in his hometown of San Diego.  After a degree in Marketing from San Diego State, Dave went on to earn a BA in Geoscience from Mississippi State University.   He also holds a broadcast AMS seal from the American Meteorological Society and now works closely with KUSI Meteorologist and founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman.



WRITING


With four Emmy's to his credit, Dave continues to write and produce feature stories for KUSI.  His work includes the series "More of the Wild" with Joan Embery, "San Diego Backroads" with Emmy-winning photographer Tom Zizzi and  currently "Dave's World of Wonder."  Recently, his award-winning article "Torrey Pines: The Big 4-0" was featured in the Buick Invitational magazine the year Tiger Woods won his sixth straight title and historic U.S. Open win at Torrey Pines.

RADIO

After going through the Broadcast Program at San Diego City College, Dave has written radio spots and done voice work on KS103 with Randy Miller, KPOP with Mike Guymon, KSDS with Fred Lewis, KOGO with Ernie Myers.   Dave hosted his own Jazz show on KSDS for three years has also been a guest with San Diego radio hosts Mark Larson, Hank Bauer, Ted Leitner and Jeff and Jer.
